EXCURSION PROGRAM FOR THE CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS
Sightseeing tour of Samarkand city
Samarkand is the capital of the Tamerlane Empire, located in the southeast of Uzbekistan, in the picturesque valley of Zerafshan River, surrounded by Pamir-Alai Mountains. Samarkand is a truly amazing city. It is described by many epithets - the Mirror of the World, the Garden of Soul, the Pearl of the East, the Face of the Earth - but it still seems impossible to express all its beauty and richness in words. You can only enjoy all of its brilliance and splendor with your own eyes.
In 2001, UNESCO included Samarkand in the World Heritage List as a Crossroads of Cultures City. According to the official version, Samarkand is 2,750 years old, but there are hypotheses stating that the city appeared 3,700 or even 4,500 years ago. Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world, of the same age as the ancient Rome which founded around the 8th century BC. The city was the key point on the Great Silk Road between China and Europe, as well as one of the main centers of science of the medieval East. In XIV century, it became the capital of the Tamerlane empire and Timurids dynasty. During the tour, the participants will visit Registan - one of the most famous places in Samarkand. In the Middle Ages, it played the role of the central square of the city. At present it is an architectural ensemble of three massive buildings - Madrasah of Ulugbek (1417 ) Madrasah of Tillya-Kari ("Gold-plated") (1660), Madrasah of Sherdor ("Abode of the lions") (1636). Ulugbek Observatory is one of the most important observatories that existed in the Middle Ages. Gur-Emir Mausoleum is the mausoleum of Amir Timur. The ensemble of mausoleums Shahi-Zinda is translated from the Persian language as "The Living Tsar". A complex of eleven mausoleums. Bibi-Khanym Mosque representes the grandiose cathedral mosque. Siab bazaar.
Wine tasting at the Samarkand winery - the oldest winery in the Central Asia.
10 traditional drinks - from soft wines to the unique Samarkand balsam. Among them are: the delicate bouquet of Gulyakandoz wine, the only one in the world made from kishmish variety grapes, Aleatico with a delicate aroma of roses, Cabernet liqueur wine with chocolate tones, the fragrant Shirin, the ruby Uzbekiston, the refreshing Hosilot, the dark golden Bouakie with quince aroma, light liqueur wines Sogdiana and the Pearl of Samarkand, soft, with amber-golden color, the fiery Zarafshan cognac, Samarkand balsam, infused on tart mountain herbs.
The sacred Bukhara
This fabulous city, located in a Kyzylkum desert oasis, looks somewhat frozen in its pristine ancient beauty. Despite more than 2500 years of its richest history, Bukhara has preserved its indescribable spirit of antiquity attracting plenty of tourists. Bukharians consider Khoja Nasreddin their compatriot – he was people's favorite and famous throughout the East for his wisdom and wits. The excursion includes a visit to Lyabi-Hauz complex, Magoki-Hattori Mosque, Chor-Minor Madrasah, trade domes, Kalyan minaret, the Mosque of Kalyan and Miri-Arab Madrasah, Ulugbek Madrasah, Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah, Ark Fortress, Bolo Hauz Mosque, mausoleum of the Samanids and Chashma-Ayub.
Tour organizers reserve their right to modify the itinerary of excursion objects visits or to replace them with the equivalent ones, which will not affect the overall scope of the services provided. We wish you a pleasant experience!
